Traditional Norwegian rice porridge.

Ingredients

400mL water
-
180g rice (short grain)

1L full cream milk
-
½tsp salt
-
1tbsp vanilla extract
-
cinnamon
-
sugar
-
butter
Directions

Wash the rice and boil in water until the water is absorbed, roughly 10 minutes.

Add milk, salt, a tbsp of butter (optional) and vanilla (optional) and let boil for about 35 minutes. Stir often so the porridge doesn’t burn.

Serve with butter, sugar and cinnamon.
